Water Quality and Benthic Invertebrate Assessments

Water quality and benthic invertebrate programs are often implemented by municipalities or regional districts to monitor the health of watercourses. We quantify the effect of stormwater management and/or restoration works on aquatic ecosystem health using indexes of biological integrity, trend analysis, and predictive models. Through our analyses we can detect changes in aquatic ecosystem health that will help inform future land use planning and restoration efforts.

  • Data types often used:
  • GIS Data (i.e. watershed boundaries, land use, roads)
  • Hydrometric Data
  • Weather Data
  • Water Quality Data (In-Situ and Lab)
  • Benthic Invertebrate Data
